You tell me. If someone told you this story about a guy in their town, would you believe him to be extraordinarily unlucky? When chaos and discord follow a single person like this, everywhere he goes, how likely is it that he is simply a disaster magnet? Perhaps an alternative hypothesis is worth considering.

Dave was raised Jewish and has many Jewish friends who are considered today to be "conservative" though in past times they may have been considered more "liberal." But I am not a Jew but a Scientologist. And I am not ready to accept assertions that seem "obvious" to others. So every time I comment on a post that has to do with the current conflict, I remind the others that there might be more to this situation than what is obvious.
I might make a few observations in response to your post. First, it does align with my own certitude that there is more going on here that no one is noticing or talking about.
Hubbard always offered his work in the context of human conflict, and particularly the last great war, when he spent most of his time in the Pacific Theater. He asserted that at the root of our problem are mechanisms that push us into irrational behaviors (or reactions). These are mental mechanisms that we all share and must all learn to rise above. And that is not that easy to do. Yet he believed this process to be the key to lessening human conflict to more tolerable (and livable) levels.
Hubbard became involved in the management of the schools that he founded. And that led him to an interest in subjects like PR. PR involves making good works well known. This becomes a problem if the organization originating the PR has not done anything good. An ethical PR Officer does not lie to the public, as that is the worst PR imaginable. Unethical PR Officers become propagandists. And that is mostly what we see today. We should not de-legitimize the PR profession, though, simply because of all the propaganda being offered as PR. Many people in PR are working hard to stay honest and to keep their organizations honest.
While we must acknowledge a range or "spectrum" of psychopathy, Hubbard had a rule for when a being crosses that line. And that is when the being begins to compulsively stop. A full blown psychopath even works compulsively to stop himself!
Hubbard developed a process designed to rehabilitate the psychopath, but conceded that many would refuse treatment.
