Merry Christmas, and an early Happy New Year. I’m back in Canada for the season. The snow was falling as I arrived and the temperature was far enough below freezing to remind me how much I missed a real winter. For those unaware, this is where Canadians come from:
So as 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on the last year of life on Substack.
The twelvemonth began soon after I started an in-depth chapter-by-chapter commentary on Political Ponerology. The discussions, which ended up numbering 21 episodes, includes insights from subscribers, and are all archived in the podcast section of this Substack. However, to preserve the privacy of participants, they are only available to paid subscribers, so if you want to peruse the archive, you know what to do.
As the year ends, I am almost finished a second series, this one on Karen Mitchell’s PhD thesis on her “persistent predatory personality” model. So far, I have written ten parts:
The Intraspecies Predator (my second most popular article this year)
Dead Inside (the fourth most popular article)
The third most popular article was my video collaboration with
(inspired by my interview with Unbekoming):We’re working on a sequel, so keep your eyes peeled for that in early 2025!
This one got fifth place:
By far my most popular post this year was also the most recent: a short commentary on some comments by Billy Corgan (yes, The Smashing Pumpkins is my favourite1 band). I suspect it received some extra traffic after being shared by
. Thanks, Roy!Another highlight this year was Colin E. Davis’s guest post. It didn’t get nearly as many views as it deserved, so if you missed it the first time, please check it out:
Among the other topics I covered this year: why real social justice is based not woke; how different personality pathologies influence conceptions of God; egotism and how to combat it; how psychopathic manipulation works; “Koehli’s battle-axe” as the solution to incompetence vs. malevolence; the psychopathological dynamics of ideology; mass shooter psychology; and a short series of sorts on psyops (including a piece on Kathleen Kennedy, one on UFOs, and another on national security).
Finally, here are the interviews I did for MindMatters:
From Archons to the Matrix: Understanding American Gnosis with Dr. Arthur Versluis
Dark Matter Monsters and the Sociology of the Paranormal with Dr. Simeon Hein
Transforming Darkness: Shadow Work and Pathocracy with Colin E. Davis
I hope to start doing interviews again in 2025.
In the wake of my ponerology commentary series I also started hosting Zoom meetups for paid subscribers every two weeks or so. The next one is scheduled for January 4, and I have just decided that the main topic will be “how to ‘psychopath-proof’ a political administration,” a topic suggested by a participant. So if you have any ideas, I hope to see you there. And if not, you can still contribute by posting ideas in the comments.
Thank you to all my subscribers, and here’s to 2025!
Posts composed in Canada are spelled in Canadian.
